Enjoying your outdoors; the garden or patio, during the evenings could be problematic, especially once the cold season sets in. Although nothing beats relaxing outside; breathing the fresh air filled with aromatic fragrance of different flowers and plants placed in the backyard, the evening chill force you to go inside. The best alternative is to have outdoor heat lamps standing in your backyard. This simple solution, however, may not be the easiest if you consider the endless hours spent on re-arranging the patio furniture just to accomplish the ambiance you are striving for. For times like these, or even for decorating your patio for the first time, one of the best devices to consider is the Maximus parasol heater which gives you the power to control the temperature.

Parasols are also great for the summer days when you want to spend some time outside enjoying the shade without being uncomfortably hot. These are great additions for patio tables, especially when entertaining guests or just relaxing alone. But imagine combining the cool comfort being protected from sunlight during the hot day and enjoying warm comfortable evenings under the same parasol. That is what Maximus parasol heaters do. Fitting the most parasols that are commonly used in outdoor spaces ranging from 28mm up to 62mm, this device can be used not only in homes but in bars, pubs or even clubs.

The warming up Maximus parasol uses what environmentalists consider as the most beneficial kind of heating which is the infrared rays. Utilizing ruby halogen tubes, they generate significantly less carbon dioxide emission than gas powered ones. The halogen tubes also provide sufficient ambient lighting in your patio area without requiring additional floodlights.

The infrared technology causes objects, or persons, struck by the infrared waves (the Maximus produces infrared in the far range) to generate warmth without harm or discomfort. Unlike most devices, which rely on warming up the air and hoping it to reach you, the infrared technology used by the Maximus allows you to feel the warmth almost a second after it has been turned on.

Furthermore, it comes with three settings – 650W, 1300W and 2000W, which allows you to choose an appropriate temperature. It runs on a variable 220V-240V power which, unlike gas powered devices, does not need any gas cylinders to refill and does not run out as long as electricity is available. The halogen tubes are easily replaceable and can normally last three thousand hours on the average. Like most patio heaters, the Maximus comes equipped with an automatic cut-off switch if the entire parasol assembly is knocked down.

Perhaps one of the most practical features of the Maximus electric parasol is that it can be folded when not in use to save space. The height of the heating assembly can be adjusted according to your desire. The heating unit is powder coated for durability against the elements. The Maximus patio heater will provide countless hours of warm fun during the cool night as well as a cool shade during the hottest days.

Spending nights outside on your patio is a short time fun due to the cold breeze which gives cooler evenings. Especially after the summer, the cold nights can put a cramp on your urge to spend some time with your friends outdoor on your beautiful patio. Placing a heater on your patio is a logical solution; however, if you do not have the space for it nor the budget, this could be a problem. Luckily there is the alternative in the form of the Endless Summer Tabletop Heater.

The table top patio heater, which is durable, economical and safe, can be used all year round, especially during the cold season. The size varies, but normally lies around 36 inches. The reflector, which gives a wide area of heat coverage, is commonly sized at 20.5 inches in diameter, giving it a wide 9 to 10 feet heating diameter. It is typically made of a tough stainless steel exterior, although variations in styles are available. The exterior casing protects it from all weather conditions.

The endless summer tabletop patio device is rated at providing 11,000 BTUs of heat per hour; thus, not quite in the same league as the free standing one, which churns out up to 46,000 BTUs. However, the endless summer tabletop one is much adequate for a small gathering around the table or a small area. Furthermore the size of the area depends on wind conditions. The required propane fuel can either be a 16 oz container or a 20lb cylinder which can provide more than 8 hours and more than 24 hours of warmth respectively.

The device features the excellent safety measures adopted by other top of the line propane heaters. There is the safety shut-off, the automatic tilt kill switch system, the oxygen depletion sensor cut-off switch as well as the multi spark electronic ignition with variable adjustment of the temperature. The whole assembly typically weighs around 23 pounds.

Furthermore, the propane gas powered tabletop device comes in a variety of colors and design, although they all share the basic features. The difference lies in the color presentation as well as in the finish which matches different types of backyard or patio decorations. There are variations which conform to modern styles, showcasing the shiny stainless steel look, or a classic bronze look great for patios with traditional or casual decorations.

Another variation lies in the source of generation. Aside from the propane based flame heat, there are also electrically powered ones. Although these typically require being near an electrical outlet, they do not need fuel to run and can therefore be much more economical. With no fuel tanks to worry about, the electric based tabletop heaters have more available designs than the propane based ones. Several different styles are available ranging from the modern to the classic, “lamp shade” like appearance.

Both kinds of the endless summer tabletop heater come with affordable prices and concerning which one to choose, it is really a matter of personal preferences. Whichever model you get you can be sure to expect it to live up to the name and provide long hours of warm summer nights regardless of the season.

One of the most advanced and popular patio heaters today is the Zeus patio heater. Ideal for garden or patio use, the Zeus provides you with comfortable warmth all year round. Whether for commercial or home use, this device is durable enough to withstand almost any kind of weather. With no fuel requirements, it is furthermore economical yet powerful with unique added features and safety qualities without the dangers or disadvantages that comes with gas powered heaters.

The Zeus patio heater uses the advanced highly efficient carbon fibre technology to generate ‘clean’ and natural infrared warmth that has an immediate and beneficial effect to people yet does not cause too much heat to the objects around them. Infrared heating is considered the most natural and environment friendly technology that makes use of the radiant energy similar to the one released to the Earth by the Sun. It requires virtually no warm up cycle and the warmth can be immediately felt around the device.

Furthermore, it has both a heating element, which churns out heat from 1350W up to 2700W as well as a 40W CFL light giving out an equivalent incandescent light of 200W. The added lighting feature eliminates the need for floodlights on your patio further reducing electricity costs as well as providing more flexibility to your patio design. The light can be adjusted to covering a specific area without moving the entire device.

One of the more advanced features of the Zeus Patio heater is the PIR sensor, which constantly detects the presence of people near the area and switches itself on automatically. If, for example, there are no persons near it for 5 minutes, it will then shutdown. This can greatly increase the energy efficiency and translates to greater savings.

The controls of the Zeus Patio heater functions are both accessible on the front of the device as well as by using the highly convenient remote control. The remote control itself can be attached to the body magnetically so it will not get misplaced easily. To prevent unauthorized use, the controls include a masterlock feature.

A set of wheels have been attached to the base of the body, which allows it to be tilted backwards in order to be moved around conveniently to different locations. However, as a safety feature, it will automatically shut down in case it gets tilted to a certain angle. Its functions will resume as soon as it gets in the upright position. The device is furthermore designed to shutdown automatically before it overheats.

The Zeus patio heater includes a five meter long cable which gives you enough length to position it almost anywhere without the need of an extension. The cable can be stowed away conveniently in a built in storage space located at the rear of the body. When not in use, it can be stored and covered in the included zipped heater cover. Its IP rating of IPX5 means that the Zeus patio heater is impervious to weather.

After the summer, the next season to look forward to is the cold autumn going to winter. Indeed, as the days become shorter and the nights are becoming longer, spending time outdoors are turning into a battle with cold. With the warm summer nights over, the advent of cool autumn breeze especially during nights can put a damper on your plans to spend some time in your patio or garden. Even some plans of social gatherings have to be put on hold during cold nights. In times such as these, good propane patio heaters can come in handy.

A typical free standing propane patio heater has 3 main parts – the main heating assembly, the support pole with the gas tube, and the base with the propane tank. The heating assembly is composed of the heat generating unit ting elements positioned well above the ground is an added safety feature which prevents accidents among children who can get near the heater. The heater itself has other safety features, which help against accidents like an automatic cut-off switch when the heater gets tilted beyond a certain angle, cutting of the supply of fuel and turning off the heater before it falls. Another feature is a gas sensor that shuts off the heater if it detects that there is not enough oxygen.

There are several different types of patio heaters, but they generally fall into two categories – the free standing types and the tabletop design. The free standing type boasts a heavy base that prevents it from being accidentally knocked down and a long pole with the gas tube inside. Both the free standing and tabletop version share similar characteristics, although the difference lies in scale. Tabletop patio heaters are smaller in order to be placed on top of the table. They have a smaller gas tank and can only run for a few hours.

Regardless of the size, though, the propane patio heater is designed to blend into your patio or garden design and complement it. You can even rearrange your decorations and placement of seating in order to have more people feel the comfortable heat emanating from your heater. With the wide area coverage being offered by the floor standing patio heater, you can have much freedom in the arrangement without worrying about leaving someone out in the cold.

The patio heaters, depending on the type chosen, generate adequate heat for a certain amount of time. Floor standing models emit up to 46,000 BTUs (British thermal unit) of heat that can cover an area of more than 25 square meters which is quite a lot of area for you, your family or friends to keep warm in without crowding. A tabletop propane patio heater on the other hand, generates from 10,000 to 11,000 BTUs of heat and covers an area of 9 square feet.

Both heaters have a push button switch to light them up while at the same time providing a safe start-up. Both models also share the same safety features. The free standing propane patio heater comes with wheels to allow freedom of movement for both storage and positioning. Each is made from durable materials able to withstand most weather conditions.

The cold chills brought about by the cold season makes people want to stay at home and curl up under a set of warm blankets just to keep warm. For houses with built-in fireplaces, sitting in a warm and cosy fire can be quite relaxing and enjoyable. However, if your house, or more particularly your room, is not equipped with a fireplace then a heater is the only way to go besides blankets. Because of their low cost and maintenance, electric heaters are very much in demand during cold seasons and one of the most popular of electric heaters is the quartz infrared heater.

A quartz infrared heater is one of the most economical and efficient electric heaters to have. Although it has been for quite some time, in this current world economic slump the heater has been gaining attention as a cost saver. A quartz infrared heater is similar to a light bulb in that it has a filament as a heater inside a gas filled tube. The main difference is in the materials used. The filament of the quartz heater is typically a coiled tungsten wire inside a quartz tube that is resistant to heat. Inside the tube, to preserve the filament against gradual wear is filled with inert gas, such as halogen. In some cases, an alternative to tungsten is carbon and an alloy based on iron, chromium and aluminum (FeCrAl). The carbon filament heats up much faster, although more difficult to fabricate.

The bulb itself costs only around 5 to 15 dollars and could last up to seven thousand hours or almost 3 years of regular use. The high efficiency of the infrared heater translates to a power consumption of only about a dollar of electricity a day.

Infrared heaters use the healthy electromagnetic waves to make the objects in your room or area to generate heat. The infrared wave is similar to the ones emitted by the sun and is generally regarded as beneficial to living things. Rather than the slow process of spreading the warm air from a heat generating filament of the heater out into the room, the infrared beams cause the room objects, including walls, to rapidly increase the ambient temperature in a relatively short time.

There are several different types of quartz infrared heater available on the market which allows for a variety of choices depending on the nature of the room you need to heat and how.

One of the most common types of a quartz heater is the ceiling or wall mounted type. These heaters can be placed on walls or ceiling where their infrared beams could strike the most objects on the area or in the room. These can come in a variety of shapes and sizes, depending on your needs.

Other infrared heaters come in free standing type, either mounted on poles or encased in a cabinet or box type of containers for portability. These have the advantage of being able to move to almost any location to strike the most objects as well as placing them in more convenient places. Some of the pole mounted quartz infrared heater comes equipped with a remote control for more accessible operation. For a more stylish indoor look, box type or cabinet type of infrared heater is available. These stand alone heaters can be placed anywhere inside the house and are styled to blend like any other appliances. Some of these heaters even do double duty as air purifiers or de-humidifiers.

During the onset of the cold season, you usually want to spend time inside your home rather than braving the cold air outside. For some parts of the world, the cold season lasts for more than a few months, which makes summer feel far away. Furthermore, the cold weather brings illnesses, especially if you are not wearing thick enough clothes.

One good way to spend time relaxing during the cold season is to have a pleasant and high efficient electric space heater which enables you to have temperature control. These devices are covering a relatively small area such as a room. Instead of going around the house wearing thick clothes or having to go to bed, lying under warm thick blankets, the electric heater will allow you to comfortably move freely without freezing.

There are two main types; those driven by fuel and those powered by electricity. The electrical driven one is a more popular choice due to their relative affordability and the ease of maintenance. In its basic simplicity, a electric current is passed through a resistor inside the device generating power. The resistor then converts this energy into warm air which is spread around. Another advantage of electric space heaters is that they do not need fuel to run but the more available and convenient electricity.

There are different kinds of models with different features based on how they propagate the warm air around the area. The first is through convection. These ones use the natural tendency of the warmer air to rise up and circulate in the room, forcing the colder air down on the floor where the electric heater makes it warmer which forces it to rise again. This set up is simple and has no moving parts and is great for lounge areas like the living room and bedrooms.

A variation of the convection heater is having it equipped with a fan. This kind utilizes a fan to speed up the circulation of the warm air. The fan is typically placed before the heating element, pulling in the cold air and passing it through and leaving the heater, already warmed. The result is a fast warming up of the room, much faster than the ordinary convection one. One disadvantage, though, is that a fan normally generates a noticeable sound which can be considered disturbing.

The infrared heaters, also known as radiant ones, uses electromagnetic waves which causes the targeted objects to increase its temperature instead of doing it by itself. This is similar to the way the sun works. This is one of the most clean and silent types, as it will not disturb your surroundings. Infrared energy is also reported to be generally healthy as it promotes blood circulation. They are also the fastest type of electric space devices in terms of raising the room temperature, making it perfect for heating the room in the cold mornings.

One of the most common patio heaters available is the natural gas heater. Indeed, it has been in existence for a long time – long enough for companies to enhance its features to make them easy to use, simple and cost-effective to maintain, and above all, safe.

An outdoor natural gas heater uses natural gas, or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to generate heat and warm up the interior of the home or the outdoors. The first commercially once was made in 1856. They used the principle of heat convection to spread the locally heated air around the room. It operated like a simple Bunsen burner, the same principle still being used today in the mushroom-type outdoor heater. Most of today’s modern outdoor gas heaters utilize infrared technology to spread radiant heat more efficiently than others.

Natural gas patio heaters come in two main classes; those that are permanently attached to pipes or gas tubing, or those that uses gas tanks (though these can also be connected to pipes). The most common design is the mushroom-type form. These particular styles are available in both fixed and portable models.

The Mushroom-type model typically consists of a large diameter reflector cap placed over the main heating assembly. The heating assembly itself is attached to the pipes leading to the main gas line. The distance between the ground and the base of the heating assembly is around 1.5 meters on the average. This is usually enough to cover up to 5 meters (or around 16 feet) of circular radiant heat. A large base insures the stability of the assembly. For fixed natural gas heaters, the pole and base assembly can be thin and stylish with no additional bulk. A non-fixed heater typically has a bulk in the base to store the LPG container. These are ordinarily quite durable and weather resistant, although a good heater cover would do it a lot of good.

A new class of natural gas heaters are emerging that can be mounted on walls or ceilings. These types come in relatively small sizes which can be fitted on almost any patio design.

Safety features, however, are critical design features that accept no compromises. With natural gas heaters there is typically some danger involved with mishandled installation as well as faulty products.

However, these new class exemplify top quality components as well as a full complement of safety features designed to fill you with a sense of ease and comfort while using these products. Features like a fully automatic on/off system for wall mounted models, anti-tilt system that automatically shuts off the flow for the flame in the unlikely event if it gets knocked over. There are models that keep track of the carbon monoxide emissions as well as oxygen content in the air and prevent the heater from operating before it reaches unsafe levels.

The availability of fuel, together with new safety and convenient features added to a proven technology all combines to an excellent outdoor heater. With natural gas heaters, style, comfort, safety and convenience are all packaged in one affordable product.

They come in all forms and sizes depending on the space of your patio or deck, as well as the design and your particular needs. Most of them can be used indoors as well. To protect the investment of the device, special outdoor heater covers are available for every model.

The material of the cover can differ depending on your general region, the storage location when not in use, as well as which type your having. For those who live in areas dealing with a blazing sun or cold snow storms, models made of two-ply polyester material reinforced by heavy gauge vinyl are available. The combination of durable material prevents the cover from cracking due to extreme cold, hinders the formation from mildews during damp times, and enables it to resist strong winds. This type surely protects your heater against any extreme weather condition.

Furthermore, the cover is made of 300 denier polyester fabric (the type of polyester made from 300 threads) for durability against cold weather conditions as well as high temperatures. The fabric is quite smooth and soft as well as light enough for handling.

Due to its adequate durability, low cost design and versatility, the ten gauge vinyl, which has an inside lined with felt, is one of the more popular materials for the construction. The Canvas-built ones are quite popular as well. These offer some protection against the weather elements; however, not as extensive.

The covers are available in a wide assortment of styles just as there are different types of heaters. For full-length, free standing ones, there are styles of vinyl as well as polyester models available which perfectly fit different sizes. Universally shaped and sized models are available as well. Canvas-types are usually fitted perfectly against the outline of the heaters. Vinyl and polyester ones typically comes with cords and lock to get the shape which assembles the heater. Other types only fit the head area of the device where the heating element is located. These are typically made with zippers for opening and closing ease.

Covers for portable devices are also available, with various sizes depending on the special type in question. These typically come in designs which completely conceals the heater for easy stowing and carrying.

The importance of having a cover for your outdoor patio lamp can never be stressed enough. While not being used, delicate parts of the device can be exposed to extreme weather conditions that can ruin or damage them. Even if you place it in a specific place, it could still be exposed to mildews and moisture. The covers are protective and offer safety against these elements, extending the life of your patio heater, as well as your warm, outdoor living.

One of the best choices for outdoor heating efficiency lamps is the infrared electric patio heaters. These versatile and cost-effective devices provide high efficiency as well as healthy rays which give warmth across wide areas. Best suited for warming up your outdoor-space, these ones let you be free from worrying about fuel availability and high costs. Its efficient use of electricity saves you on consumption costs while providing a convenient and natural warmth all year round. It comes in various models which gives you the choice of having it installed on walls or ceilings, being portable, free standing on poles or as umbrella-type configuration. With this particular patio heater, you can enjoy your outdoor living; the garden, deck or patio, regardless of the weather.

Natural Heat
These devices use natural infrared beams similar to the rays generated by the sun. Not to be confused with harmful ultra-violet rays, these rays are beneficial to life. In fact, even our bodies generate this sort of warmth, although in small quantity. The Chinese even used this energy for healing purposes in the ancient times. Only recently has modern technology caught up with the usage of infrared energy and for the past 40 years, infrared rays are used all over the world for therapies and different treatments.

Low Cost Heat
Using the latest discovery, the infrared technology generates warmth across a wide area, unaffected by winds. The technology uses beams that are directly absorbed by objects giving them warmth, unlike conventional ones where the warmed up air is circulated around an area. The effect is a generally comfortable and refreshing warmth which is generated without consuming fuel. Comparative studies show that about 50% savings can be gained using infrared devices instead of fuel-based ones. Conventional ones rely on circulated air to generate heat which, consequently, is distributed differential of more than 15 degrees from the floor to ceiling, with the floor experiencing less warmth. In order to reach a higher temperature, more fuel must be consumed. With an infrared patio heater, however, the high-efficiency heat is distributed evenly; thus, less expensive to operate. Maintenance is also at a minimum and with an estimated time of more than twenty thousand hours of operation they beat the more conventional ones by far.

Versatile installation
By not relying on any kind of fuel, the infrared ones can come in various shapes and sizes that can fit whatever outdoor design you may have. For decks and patios with walls or ceilings, a mounted infrared heater is a excellent choice. These ones are not in use of floor space and is generally mounted on adjustable swivel type mounts that give you the freedom to place them wherever you like. Free standing, lamp-type models are also available as well as umbrella mounts that give you a stylish feature that is both attractive and practical. These designs often come with recessed wheels, which allow you to move them around with a minimal effort for better coverage. They can cover almost 1,000 sq. ft. of an area giving you much more room for gatherings or any leisure outdoor activities. The electric infrared patio heater gives you summer all year long.

Bernzomatic has been making propane-based products since the 1950s. They have been developing consumer products like stoves, lighting and portable heaters. Their expertise in propane-based products led them to develop the excellent Bernzomatic Patio Heater.

This product is the company´s answer to the continuing problem of outdoor heating during cold seasons. With summer only lasting a few months, there is a constant need to supply thousands of homes with not only interior heating, but outdoors as well. After all, people like to enjoy the outdoors especially during afternoon and evenings instead of spending winter and fall inside their houses. This unit is perfect for a nice, warm and cosy leisure time on your backyard, patio or deck. You can have gatherings done outdoors even well beyond summer and your guests will enjoy the warm comfort of your hospitality as well as the fresh and invigorating outdoor air just outside your house.

With models able to warm up a 400 square foot area with about 10 degrees, it uses a 20lb capacity propane tank to generate up to 40,000 BTUs (British thermal unit) that can last up to 10 hours of continuous operation. It has adjustable settings and has a high efficiency generation rating. It uses a unique cylindrical heating design that spreads the warmth evenly across the body, completely unlike some umbrella-type ones, which propagates it from the top going down. This has the tendency to provide heat in mostly the head areas while leaving the body and, most especially the feet, with substantially less warmth.

Safety has not been compromised by the design features of the Bernzomatic patio device. Oxygen depletion sensors detect unsafe levels of oxygen and automatically shut down the flame. It also features a carbon monoxide detector which measures the level of carbon monoxide emission and shuts down the unit well before it reaches unsafe levels. The external casing is designed to be safe to touch, with protective screens that prevent direct contact with the central cylinder and a cool metallic casing that stops you from worrying about having children around the unit.

Furthermore, it comes in an easy-to-assemble Lift-n-Lock system that requires only two steps in order to have it up and running. The exterior control panel can be accessed easily for effortless adjustments. The unit even has a set of recessed wheels that allows you to move it around for better coverage as well as a means to have it moved to a storage area when not in use without any difficulty.

One of the main advantages of the Bernzomatic device is its portability. With no tethered wires unlike electric-based ones, the unit can be used almost anywhere. This is great for outdoor parties without worrying about anybody tripping over any wires. You can even use this on camping trips where electricity is mostly unavailable. Its portability lets you be creative in your outdoor gathering layout and its safety features provide you with the added peace of mind. For a worry-free and convenient way to extend your summer outdoors, the Benzomatic patio heater is an excellent choice. Two of their better-known patio heater models, which comes fully assembled, are Bernzomatic 37,500 BTU Propane Radiant Patio Heater and BernzOmatic PH3250S Patio Heater, Stainless Steel.
